Celestial/Demon

DemCel Nox.png

When Nefartatul became jealous and tired of being under the thumb of God he tried in vane to push his brother from the earth and take control.  The result was God casting him down to the shadow of the trenches of his treachery.

God, seeing that he still needed help created sought and called for those creatures of creations and the Celestials seeing the birth of a new terra ferma and curious, gathered.  They came forth and sought to help God manage and assist with those he favored, Humankind.

Nefartatul seeing this and sensing a new found energy also made a call out to those that could hear his entrancing voice.  A song of promises and enticement, power and dominion over man, because he was indeed closer to them here than they were up there.  “A true hand in the development of the souled ones, and because they have free will,” he said, “they can choose whom they would prefer to call to for aid.”

The Celestials that bade his call became the demons of the world, taking on forms that showed their true wicked nature, but also still able to inhabit a host, taking on a human form, a symbiotic relationship for most, but some completely engulfed the human, even becoming one over time for those ancient ones.  They preferred the ease of the human guise when moving around and can leave those they possess with ease. This leaves any host though that is damaged to suffer the demon’s meat ride.

Those that rebuffed the call but also wanted to stay amongst the humans and humankind remained Celestials.  Their power greatly diminished but still something to contend with, they sought all the knowledge of the earth and heavens, but more so fascinated by the things these souled beings could create.

Although folklore has some basis in fact the Demons remained for varying reasons some not even interested in Nefartatul, but more so what these humans could do as well and how wicked and immoral they could be, and greedy.  Demons stayed to collect the souls, for there is power and knowledge in souls and for that reason they always tempt the ones they feel are weak of character.  Souls are energy, power and knowledge.  Some of these demons are known as Gregori, the first to come to earth to watch over humans but feasting off a soul has led them to become rather addicted to that drug of choice and thus their change from enlightened to shadow.

The Celestials seek knowledge and to enlighten those they feel are going down the wrong path or spread the word by being in a human guise as teachers, hermits, soothsayers, prophets.  Those that have been on earth a long time have many human characteristics because they mimic them and the relationship with their host is more a mutual agreement, one always aware of what the other is doing and remembering.   Nox Atra attracted these beings through moral denigration and well let’s be honest, there is a lot of shady things that happen here.

Note:  People will want to play gods or demi gods, this is not allowed

Celestial-

Weaknesses:

  • Shadow Weakness – as a being of creation and light Celestials weaken around unholy places or unholy people.

  • Law of Creation – "Harm no innocent, take no life needlessly, meddling in Human affairs for personal gain is forbidden."  Breaking the vows of creation, means downfall and judgment.  Loss of wings and possible casting into the darkness to become a demon.  This also includes having children with a human or any other race.

  • Earthbound – choosing to stay on earth has made them earthbound and they have lost their ability to teleport.

 Strength:

  • Divine energy – Celestials power comes from that of creation and the knowledge of how things are made and created on a cellular level.  They can purify food and water as well as cure disease, heal on touch and mind you are doing “miracle” work in front of humans can be a bit shocking and bring attention.  Being typically furtive they don’t like to be around when someone they help wakes.  This does not work on undead or anything that is not organic.

  • Invisibility - Angels, even while occupying vessels, can hide within the Veil rendering themselves unseen by the human eye.

  • Sigil Masters – Celestials knowledge is vast, and they are well versed in all languages of creation and as such they are also able to create wards and devils’ traps.

Demons-

Weaknesses:

  • Exorcised – a demon can be exorcised from a host.  This will of course require someone trained in exorcism.  Also, the person must know through rp that the host has been possessed.

  • Don’t go into the Light! – Demons suffer from holy ground or holy objects, holy water, blessed cemeteries etc will weaken them greatly.

  • Salt of the Earth – Demons cannot cross a line of salt; salt is used both as a purifier and to repel evil through the ages and go back to the time of creation.  Belief in this has given salt a purifying and evil repelling power of its own.

Strengths:

  • Pyrokinesis - The ability to control and manipulate fire.

  • Perception - Like Celestials, demons can pierce the Veil and perceive entities that are invisible to human beings, such as reapers, ghosts, etc.

  • Shadow Walking – Nefartatul gave his favored companions the ability to walk in shadows unseen by those around them, virtually becoming part of the shadows.
