The 1800's was the time of Victorian fashion. Victorian fashion is often represented by corsets, long pleated skirts, bodices, and petticoats for the ladies, and high collars, button-up shirts, canvas pants, coats and vests for the gentlemen. Now this can be a difficult selection of items to find in SL. Lucky for you we have gone through the trouble of locating a few stores to help you in your hunt for the perfect outfit for your character.
Men's Fashion
Contraption has a perfect selection of coats and other accessories for menswear. Their price range on average is L$250 to L$500 with a few exceptions.
Gabriel is made up predominantly of modern attire. However there are a few items here that could work for this time period, such as the Vintage Suit or the Vintage Tuxedo and finally the Cloaked Suit.
Silver Moon also happens to carry a few men's outfits. SMD located right next door also has one or two men's outfits that might work.

Women's Fashion
Junbug is a lovely store with a wide range of medieval to 1900's attire. Their price range is pretty steady at around L$450 per item. This shop, however, does participate in Fifty Linden Friday, so there is a chance your dress might come up for only L$50. Elizabethan, Madame, and Little Bird are some examples of what the store offers.
SMD also has a very lovely selection of dresses, ranging from medieval to 1800's. Price on average is L$550 per item. Try looking upstairs for some of the more time-appropriate items.
Silver Moon is located on the same SIM as SMD and has a wide range of dresses available.

For the ladies in this roleplay; please be aware that we do allow short dresses as well. However, you should wear applier pants under said dress to cover your legs.
Keep in mind this is a fantasy roleplay and there is some give and take when it comes to being authentic to the time period. If you are ever in doubt, don't be afraid to ask a Sentinel for advice. To leave you with one last tip; when searching for attire on your own in the MP, try searching words like Vintage or Victorian. If you come across a store that has a lot of this kind of attire, please pass MaraKilpatric a notecard with an LM or Address inside so that she can update this blog from time to time.
